Benefits of Solar Power

Renewable Energy

Source Solar power is a renewable “green” energy source that can be harnessed to generate electricity without relying on coal (fossil fuel) power from Hwange Power Station or any other ZESA site.

Reduced Carbon

Emissions from Solar power do not produce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change.

Environmentally Sustainable Energy Solutions

Business owners will be able to legitimately claim reduced carbon footprint enabling overseas visitors to choose tourism sites that offer “green” solutions.

Cost Savings

Solar power can lead to significant cost savings. It reduces the reliance on ZESA power that is subject to price fluctuations and supply disruptions.

Cost Savings

Switching to solar power can lead to significant cost savings, as businesses can reduce their energy bills. One solution is a direct power purchase agreement (PPA) at a set tariff over a set period.

Business owners do not need to provide any capital funding. This reduces the risk of ZESA increasing tariffs and affecting business overheads.

Business owners could immediately save 30 to 40% of their current ZESA bill. A monthly ZESA bill of USD 25,000 (USD 300,000 pa.) could save USD 10,000 (USD 120,000 pa.) without any capital input. As ZESA tariffs increase over the next twenty years savings could double.

Power Purchase Agreements

What is a PPA?

A power purchase agreement (PPA) is a legal contract between the solar energy supplier and a business that allows the business to purchase solar power at a fixed price over a fixed period.

How does a PPA work?

Under a PPA, the solar energy supplier provides energy from various locations. Using Net Metering Technology, the business then purchases the solar power at a fixed price. If the business has multiple locations power can be supplied to each.
